CSS is a private-nonprofit organization originally formed in January 1985 by the Chesapeake Community Services Board to provide vocational opportunities and rehabilitation to people with mental and physical disabilities. Since then, CSS has expanded and is now serving disabled veterans from all cities in the Hampton Roads area.
Thank you for considering your company as a location to help complete situational assessments for our disabled veterans. These assessments will help us determine the talents and abilities of our clients. After the assessments are completed, we will work on finding customized employment for our disabled vets that focus on their strengths and abilities.
Benefits to Your Company
Our clients will work at your company and complete assigned tasks for a minimum of 2 – 4 hrs on a daily/weekly basis according to your scheduling. This is available labor at no cost to you!
It is a win-win situation. You will be receiving no-cost labor and we are able to determine if our veterans are ready to go back to work or if we need to increase their disability benefits to sustain some sense of a normal life if they are unable to return to work.
Benefits to Our Veterans
During our assessment screening we will observe our clients’ strength, endurance, physical mobility and level of support needed to maintain employment. A minimum of three assessments are needed to determine the employability of our clients.
